Dark theme plugin for dsh web (port of Obsidian things-soft-colorful-headings): warm-gray dimmed text via --dsw-alias-label-* token overrides plus soft colorful h1-h6 headings, zero dependencies.

Install

# from GitHub (first run asks for allowBuilds approval — follow the hint, retry)

dsh plugin --profile web add github:MitterMeierGithub/dsh-darksoft-theme

Any plugin you install runs third-party code with your own permissions — it can read your files, use your credentials, and reach the network, and tool approvals don’t sandbox it. GitHub-sourced plugins also run build scripts at install time — pnpm blocks those until you allow them, so an install can stop with ERR_PNPM_GIT_DEP_PREPARE_NOT_ALLOWED or ERR_PNPM_IGNORED_BUILDS; dsh prints the exact key to add under allowBuilds in your profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml, and the install works on the next run. Allowing a build is a trust decision: only install sources you trust, and pin a commit (github:owner/repo#sha).

README

A dark theme plugin for dsh web, ported from Obsidian's things-soft-colorful-headings: warm-gray dimmed text (via --dsw-alias-label-* token overrides) plus soft colorful h1–h6 headings.

Zero dependencies, pure style injection. lib/ is the final artifact — no build step.

Install

# from GitHub
dsh plugin --profile web add github:MitterMeierGithub/dsh-darksoft-theme

# from npm
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-darksoft-theme

# from a local directory or tarball
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-darksoft-theme
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-darksoft-theme-1.0.0.tgz

Restart dsh web after installing.

Features

  • Soft colorful h1–h6 headings in the dark theme
  • Warm-gray dimmed text for a calmer, lower-contrast UI

Compatibility

  • Applies to the dsh web dark theme only (body[data-ds-dark-theme]); light theme is unaffected
  • Pure CSS injection with no runtime dependencies; coexists with other theme/skin plugins
  • Requires the dsh web profile; no need to install for TUI / headless profiles

Note

The same color values can look warmer or bluer on different screens/browsers — that is a display difference (color temperature / gamut / brightness), not a plugin bug. When comparing across devices, unify the color temperature and color profile first.
