Adds OpenAI Codex (ChatGPT) as a selectable DSH provider via the local Codex App Server.
Install
# from GitHub (first run asks for allowBuilds approval — follow the hint, retry)
dsh plugin --profile web add github:seriousz158/dsh-codex-use#path:/packages/dsh-codex-appserver
Any plugin you install runs third-party code with your own permissions — it can read your files, use your credentials, and reach the network, and tool approvals don’t sandbox it. GitHub-sourced plugins also run build scripts at install time — pnpm blocks those until you allow them, so an install can stop with ERR_PNPM_GIT_DEP_PREPARE_NOT_ALLOWED or ERR_PNPM_IGNORED_BUILDS; dsh prints the exact key to add under allowBuilds in your profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml, and the install works on the next run. Allowing a build is a trust decision: only install sources you trust, and pin a commit (github:owner/repo#sha).
README
DeepSeek Harness provider that talks to the local Codex CLI App Server over
stdio JSON-RPC. It exposes the provider id codex-chatgpt; the user must
select it explicitly, and the plugin never changes DSH's default provider.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add github:seriousz158/dsh-codex-use#path:/packages/dsh-codex-appserver
The package declares both dsh.bundle and the web dsh.client manifest. The
bundle patch mounts the host provider; the client manifest injects the UI.

Release 0.2.5 supports Codex CLI 0.149.0 only. Other versions fail closed
with protocol-mismatch. This project is distributed through GitHub source
installs and GitHub Releases; it is not published to npm.
The injectMemory setting remains fail-closed for this protocol generation:
turns refuse to start with protocol-error when it is explicitly enabled. The
adapter never promotes memory to developerInstructions and never sends an
unsupported context field.
The standalone doctor is metadata-only by default:
node tools/codex-appserver-doctor.mjs --json
node tools/codex-appserver-doctor.mjs --json --live
The browser half exposes a revision-fenced settings.plugin.item card. The
quota row remains in settings.general.item; Fast Mode is schema-gated and
depends on upstream service-tier support, while local images are read only through
DSH attachments. OAuth and remote search are
separate routes (dsh-codex-search is disabled by default).
The repository root contains the full installation guide, tests, security boundary, and legacy manual-installer migration instructions.
